As a voluntary sector organisation we are reliant on the good will of the local community to enable us to provide our services, support and activities to residents within Ham & Petersham. From the running of our weekly activities (Tea & Chat and Lunch Club) to the governance of the organisation, volunteers play a vital role in ensuring we serve the local community. You may have met one or two of our volunteers at Ham Fair recently.
Our Board of Trustees are six volunteers from the local community who bring together a vast number of skills to help run the organisation. The roles of Chair and Honorary Treasurer are more specialised and both work closely with the other Trustees and the staff to ensure SOS delivers on its objectives. Our current Honorary Treasurer, Julia Martin, has decided to retire at the next AGM to concentrate on her other voluntary work, family & hobbies, and we would like to take this opportunity to say a big Thank You for all your hard work, time and support. Julia, you will be very much missed by all of us.
As Julia is retiring, we are now looking for a new Honorary Treasurer, so if you have a passion for finance, figures and accounting, or you know someone who is, please do get in contact with the SOS staff team on 020 8948 1090, your community needs you.
